Aloha from KONA HAWAII! Join Printmakers around the World for a DAY LONG collaborative printmaking experience. Artists in over 32 countries will join together May 7 to celebrate our craft! We will be hosting a one day open studio event in the Primal Visions Art Studio Garden in Kailua Kona from 10 to 2. You are invited to come and make your own original art print. We will be using recycled clay to form smooth flat plates that we will carve our designs into then roll on ink and hand print on to paper. All materials provided. Please RSVP to attend. Two questions:

    1. To which timezone is the “print day” attached?

    2. Will the clay workshop be accessible online? If yes, please list the supplies needed.

    Thanks and happy printing.

All time zones! It begins in Australia and moves across the globe. 24 hours of printing. There is no particular workshop that heads this-it’s printmakers everywhere opening their shops and solitary participants making a footprint in the sand. Join in anyway you can!

The clay print workshop is Hawaiian Time 10 to 2 on Saturday. We’ll post photos on this blog of the process when we start Saturday. The supplies are simple: firm smooth damp/dry clay for a plate, a knife to cut the clay, oil based ink, roller and lightweight paper for a hand rubbed transfer.
